Coaching clinics elevated to regional academy status
Press Release PCB: On elevation of coaching clinics to regional academies
The Pakistan Cricket Board has succeeded in elevating the status of coaching clinics at Hyderabad and Quetta at par with the Regional academies at six other centres of the country. The six-week mega coaching and training programme will run between May 19 and June 28.
Col (rtd) Mohammad Parvaiz, administrator academies, Saturday said with this latest development the boys at Quetta and Hyderabad will get identical training and coaching facilities. According to the initial plan, the provision of lodging and boarding was arranged at the regional academies while the coaching clinics were to run between 1600 hours and 1930 hours.
"We were facing some logistical problems at Quetta and Hyderabad. And since we were not able to make any major breakthroughs till Friday morning, we decided to give the status of coaching clinics to the two cities until we manage accommodation for the youngsters. I am glad that we succeeded in getting the logistics sorted out Friday evening and now we will have eight regional academies running on identical lines with same syllabus," Col Parvaiz said.
The PCB had Friday announced that regional academies will be organized at Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Faisalabad.
