Cold shoulder for Sara Stadium

Cold shoulder for Sara Stadium?
It seems like the Saravanamuttu Stadium will once again be cold shouldered when it comes to the staging of international cricket matches.
It is reliably understood that the Sri Lanka cricketers prefer to play the first Test against Zimbabwe at either the Tyronne Fernando Stadium or the R. Premadasa Stadium.
Initial indications were to play the Test starting on September 11 at the Saravanamuttu Stadium, which has a long tradition and historic past dating back to the early fifties. However, for reasons best understood to the cricketers and those immediately connected with them, the stadium seems to have fallen out of favour.
A final decision on the venue will be taken by the Cricket Board`s hierarchy on Monday.
