Court temporarily prohibits BCCI from TV deals
The Chennai High Court has prohibited the BCCI from finalising any deals regarding television rights for the upcoming India-Pakistan series
The Chennai High Court has prohibited the BCCI from finalising any deals regarding television rights for the upcoming India-Pakistan series. The hearing was held after Zee TV took the Indian Board to court for cancelling the fiercely-contested tender for rights in September.
The court announced that that another hearing would be held on Thursday, February 17. Meanwhile KS Sarma, the chief executive of India's state-run broadcaster Doordarshan, said that he had approached the Board offering to broadcast the series. The Economic Times quoted Sarma as saying, "I have written the letter to the cricket board on Friday and expect a favourable response."
