David Hussey, the Australia batsman, will spend the 2010 season at Nottinghamshire for his fifth English summer with the county. Hussey is a Twenty20 specialist for his national side and if his duties don't increase he will be available for all but the IPL tournament at the start of the campaign.

"Nottingham is like a second home to me and I'm thrilled to be invited back again," Hussey said. "Fortunately I should be available for most of the season this year and I'm looking forward to seeing what changes have been put in place. I just hope that it will be a hugely successful one for us."

Hussey joined the county for the first time in 2004 and has been hugely successful there, including picking up two hundreds and a fifty in three County Championship games there in 2009. "David is a proven match-winner in all forms of the game and he has made a big impact whenever he has been available to us," Mick Newell, Nottinghamshire's director of cricket, said.

"He was our number one target and he is always keen to play for us when his commitments allow. He'll lead our batting and we couldn't ask for a better or more dominant player to do that for us."

Newell will look to sign Adam Voges, the Western Australia batsman, for the start of the season when Hussey is at the IPL. "Adam is keen on playing county cricket next summer so a shorter spell with us may be a good fit but we need to have further discussions because he may choose to spend a full season elsewhere," Newell said. "We're waiting to see the fixture schedule because that could affect the availability of our second overseas player for the Twenty20 competition."
