Jason Gillespie, who has been struggling with a calf strain, will return to the Australia side for tomorrow's VB Series match against West Indies at the Gabba. Gillespie proved his fitness during a lengthy training session after missing the victory over Pakistan at Hobart on Sunday.
"Just watching him today, he did everything that was required of him," Ricky Ponting said. "He's come up well." The move means Glenn McGrath will be able to continue resting in Sydney after being given a week's break.
Adam Gilchrist has also recovered from a niggling knee injury while Ponting hinted that Andrew Symonds might gain a promotion in a bid to return to form. Symonds has failed to fire in the opening two matches with 20 and 0 batting at No. 6.
Ponting will finalise the side tomorrow, and Australia need only one more win to clinch a place in the best-of-three finals series. West Indies are still searching for their first victory.
