New Zealand fast bowler Doug Bracewell has replaced the injured allrounder Andrew Ellis in the squad for the Champions Trophy, the ICC has confirmed.* Ellis was ruled out last week due to a broken rib.
Ellis, 31, was injured in Christchurch, while training for the three-match ODI series in England and the Champions Trophy. Bracewell is also making a comeback after missing the Test series at home against England earlier this year. Currently in England with the Test side, he failed to make the XI for the Lord's Test that concluded on Sunday.
The ODI players will leave for the UK on May 21. They have two warm-up matches in Northampton, and play their first game of the tournament on June 9, against Sri Lanka in Cardiff.
*- May 20 1300 GMT - The earlier story on Ellis was updated following confirmation from the ICC about Bracewell
