Dravid and Harmison stay on top

Despite lukewarm performances in the Test series against Australia so far, Rahul Dravid retains the top spot in the Pricewaterhouse Coopers ranking for Test batsmen. Dravid has made 0, 60 and 26 in his three innings, but holds on to the first rank primarily because Matthew Hayden, who is in second place, hasn't done enough to displace him. Hayden has only made 153 runs from four innings so far.
Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag's 155 at Chennai took him to 847 points, his highest ever. Sehwag is in third place, while Sachin Tendulkar, who is back for the Nagpur Test, is the third Indian in the top ten, slotting in in seventh position. The highest gainer from last week, though, was Sanath Jayasuriya. His 253 at Faisalabad against Pakistan helped him climb 13 place to No. 17.
Among the bowlers, Steve Harmison continues to hold to the No. 1 position. The top ten list is unchanged from last week, but the biggest gainers there, too, are Sri Lankans. Rangana Herath, who took 7 for 132 at Faisalabad, climbs a whopping 36 places to No. 47, while Dilhara Fernando's six-wicket haul in that game helps him climb 11 rungs to No. 40.
