EAP Cricket Cup final preparations

The Vanuatu Cricket Association (VCA) has spent the past month finalising arrangements for the upcoming EAP Cricket Cup 2005.

The tournament, to be held in Port Vila between 23-29 September, will see six countries competing - Cook Islands, Indonesia, Japan, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu. The top two teams will advance to the next stage of World Cup qualification.

ICC EAP Project Officer Russell James made a final pre-event visit to Port Vila during August to officially launch the tournament. The visit also included a final inspection of the grounds to be used during the tournament and meetings with the tournament hotel, government and event sponsors.
