The installation of Pietersen as captain has certainly lifted the team after their Test series defeat by South Africa, and in fact they are unbeaten since he took over, winning the final Test and ripping through four one-dayers.

That confidence will be hugely important as they build again, with not only the series in India to prepare for, but, looking further down the line, for next summer's Ashes series at home against the Australians.

The return to fitness and then form of Andrew Flintoff has been a massive boost, but it will be interesting to see whether, and if, England bring former captain Michael Vaughan on tour to India.

I'll have a full series preview and in-depth looks at special markets, so please keep checking back here.
