Kent's Graham Cowdrey yesterday announced he will be retiring from first-class cricket at the end of the season.
Cowdrey, 34, has been unable to win a place in the championship side this season and feels the time is right to make the decision.
He said: "It's a sad day for me but I have had a really enjoyable career, the biggest highlight being my record stand of 368 with Aravinda de Silva against Derbyshire in 1995."
