ENGLAND v INDIA 1986-87
At Sharjah, April 2
At Sharjah, April 2. India won by three wickets. Toss: India. The combined effects of a slow pitch following a damp, early morning start and, for some of the batsmen, months out of action, were seen as England toiled to reach 211. Only Broad showed his true form. A typically flamboyant half-century by Srikkanth (one six, five fours) and an even harder-hit 64 off 54 balls by Kapil Dev steered India to a comfortable victory.
