Played at Port Elizabeth, Friday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, February 27, 28, March 2, 3.- In the last Test game the Englishmen, though they had to play without Barnes, made ample amends for any shortcomings in their cricket at Durban. Securing a big lead on the first innings they won the game by ten wickets. South Africa lost their chance when, after a good start in their first innings, they collapsed before Douglas and Woolley. P.A.M. Hands hit up his 83 without making a mistake of any kind. On the second day Mead played finely for three hours and three-quarters, and was well supported by Woolley. Taylor and Zulch started South Africa's second innings by sending up 121. For the moment a good fight seemed in prospect, but apart from P.A.M. Hands the other batsmen did nothing.
