ENGLAND'S authorities are seeking major sponsorship for next year's new two-division National League as a result of AXA's decision not to become involved.
Terry Blake, the England Cricket Board's marketing director, said: "We're looking to introduce a totally fresh presentation for the 50-over county game. The added excitement of promotion and relegation and opportunities for televised floodlit games make it a hugely exciting prospect."
AXA will run a charity campaign during the final year of their six-year sponsorship of the Sunday League this season.
Glamorgan, the county champions, have promoted John Derrick from second to first-team coach this summer in succession to Duncan Fletcher.
