ESPNcricinfo is looking for a subeditor, based in Mumbai (Bangalore might also be an option), to work with the other members of the site's features team, who are responsible mainly for editing and publishing features content to the site and its magazine section, the Cricket Monthly.

Among the responsibilities:
- Editing articles to a high standard and using the site's content management system to publish them. This includes (but is not limited to) subbing text in line with house style; fact-checking; vetting material for logic, structure and coherence and making amendments as required; writing headlines, summaries, picture captions, and selecting pull quotes; and proofreading.
- Sourcing appropriate photographs for use in articles, making basic crops and edits, and uploading them into the content management system.
- Liaising with writers and photographers to source content or in the course of fact-checking, for queries to do with articles, or other reasons relating to preparing content for publication.
- Promoting ESPNcricinfo's feature content using the site's social media accounts.
We're looking for someone with excellent written and spoken English, an appreciation of good writing, a keen eye for detail, a meticulous approach to editing, and a sound knowledge of cricket.
He or she will have spent about three years on the copy desk in a features/magazine environment, and must be able to work well as part of a small team.
