  • It was Zimbabwe's 147th match. The record now reads : won 38, lost 101,tied 4 and abandoned 4.

  • It was the 84th match on the WestIndian soil. West Indies has won 59,lost 21,tied 2 and abandoned 2.Incidentally West Indies has the best winning percentage (70.23) on home soil among all teams. South Africa with winning percentage of 69.44 is placed second.

  • It was the seventh match between these two sides. West Indies have won all seven.

  • Umpires Steve Bucknor and B Morgan were officiating in their 71st and eighth match respectively. While Ranjan Madugalle was officiating as ICC referee in his 74th match.

  • Ridley Jacobs was playing his 50th match. He became 29th WestIndian and 219th player overall to do so.

  • Sherwin Campbell scored his maiden ODI hundred in his 71st match. His previous highest was 86 against SriLanka at Sharjah on 11-10-1995. Campbell became 18th WestIndian to score an ODI hundred.

  • The hundred was second for West Indies against Zimbabwe. The only other hundred came off the bat of Gordon Greenidge's 105* at Worcester on 13-06-1983.

  • The third wicket partnership of 140 runs between Sherwin Campbell and Jimmy Adams was West Indies' second highest for this wicket against Zimbabwe after their alltime record partnership of 195* runs between Gordon Greenidge and Lary Gomes at Worcester on 13-06-1983.

  • Jimmy Adams was captaining West Indies for the fourth time in his career-first time on WestIndian soil. His innings (60) is the third joint highest by a player on his first appearance as captain on WestIndian soil after Brian Lara's 110 against England at Bridgetown on 29-03-1998, Mike Atherton's 86 for England at Bridgetown on 16-02-1994 and Ian Botham's 60 for England at Kingstown on 04-02-1981.

  • The third wicket partnership of 86 runs between Stuart Carlisle and Murray Goodwin was Zimbabwe's best for this wicket against West Indies. This obliterated the previous record stand of 28 between Jack Heron and Andy Pycroftat Worcester on 13-06-1983.

  • Jimmy Adams' allround performance (60 runs and 3-19) was the seventh instance of a WestIndian scoring a fifty and capturing three wickets in same match. Adams also became second WestIndian to perform this allround feat on two occasions after Viv Richards. The details :

  • Adams became only the second player to perform the allround feat of a fifty and three wickets in same match against Zimbabwe. The only other to do so is South Africa's Peter Kirsten (62* & 3-31) at Canberra on 10-03-1992.

  • Adams became only the second WestIndian captain to perform this allround feat. Richards was captaining his side on both occasions as mentioned in the table above.

  • The Man of Match award was Sherwin Campbell's third in his career. The other two awards came against Australia at Bridgetown on 13-04-1999 and against India at Toronto on 12-09-1999.
