First Test venue changed in Pakistan-South Africa series
Outfield problems at the Rawalpindi Stadium have resulted in the first Test of South Africa's forthcoming tour of Pakistan being transferred to Lahore
Outfield problems at the Rawalpindi Stadium have resulted in the first Test of South Africa's forthcoming tour of Pakistan being transferred to Lahore. It will now be played at the Gaddafi Stadium from October 9-13.
The change in venue has also resulted in a three-day warm-up match being shifted to Bagh-e-Jinnah in Lahore. That will commence on October 5.
However, Rawalpindi has not missed out completely. A one-day international scheduled for Bugti Stadium in Quetta on September 29 will now be played in Rawalpindi. A facelift for the Bugti complex would not be completed in time for the ODI, according to a Pakistan Cricket Board official.
