Andrew Flintoff has committed his future to Lancashire after agreeing to a new five-year contract - with a one-year rolling option - with the club.
Flintoff, who is 28, made his county debut in 1995 and although his England commitments means that he does not play for Lancashire that often, he said that he had "never thought of playing anywhere else ... this contract underlines my commitment".
"He still is passionate about playing for the county club," explained Jim Cumbes, the county's chief executive. "Obviously we all hope he extends his England career as long as possible, which means his appearances for us would be limited. But his association with the club extends far beyond the actual field of play and we are delighted that he has signed this contract."
