Andrew Flintoff's six-wicket haul at Old Trafford, including the big scalp of Brian Lara in both innings, has sent him flying 12 places up the table to 14th position in the latest PwC ratings. That now means that England boast four bowlers in the top twenty - Steve Harmison slips one spot to fourth, as does Ashley Giles in 11th place, while Matthew Hoogard drops two slots to 17th.

Flintoff is currently 31st in the batting table, albeit with a career-best rating of 602 after scoring his seventh half-century in consecutive matches yesterday, which means he is currently rated as the third-best allrounder in world cricket, behind the South African pair of Jacques Kallis and Shaun Pollock. Another impressive display at The Oval, however, and he could go second behind Kallis.

Elsewhere in the bowling list, a familiar face has returned to the top ten. In the absence of the injured Muttiah Muralitharan, it was left to Chaminda Vaas to bowl Sri Lanka to victory over South Africa, which he did with six wickets in the second innings. He climbs three places to tenth, while Kumar Sangakkara shoots up to 12th spot in the batting, after his double-century.
