Ganguly - 'We are not worried about security'

Sourav Ganguly, resplendent in blue for a Pepsi commercial shoot, took time off to speak to reporters who had been waiting for the best part of a day at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai. He first cleared doubts about the fitness of various players. "As per my update Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar and Anil Kumble are fit. But it will be clear on Monday when they will be required to submit fitness certificates. The only player who won't be able to make it is Harbhajan Singh."

Ganguly brushed off suggestions that the security situation in Pakistan would make it difficult for the players to concentrate on the cricket. "We are going there to do well and we have to do well. We will have to perform," he said. "We are not worried about security. If something has to happen, it has to happen. As far as we are concerned it is another international tour for us."

Sachin Tendulkar told an interviewer recently that he expected boredom to pose a big challenge as players would be confined to their hotel rooms for considerable amounts of time. Ganguly did not share this view. "I don't think it is going to be so bad. We will have a lot of things to do."

With Ganguly at CCI for the shoot were Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Mohammad Kaif and Harbhajan Singh.
