Grant Bradburn ND's Cricketer of the Year

An outstanding season in both the Shell Cup and Shell Trophy has resulted in Grant Bradburn being the standout performer for the Knights, fittingly he was awarded the Air New Zealand Cricketer of the year Award. Grant was the top run scorer in the Shell Trophy and also scored consistently in the Shell Cup. He was also our most economical Shell Cup bowler and his 24 wickets were the best return for a spin bowler in the Shell Trophy.

Along with Grant's excellent performances he also passed some significant milestones, including becoming the most capped player for ND, passing 4000 first-class runs for ND and taking 100 first-class catches, the most ever by a Northern Districts fielder.

Grant also took out the Batsman of the Year award, he averaged 35 in the Shell Trophy and included in that his fourth first-class century against Wellington. Grant also chimed in well in the Shell Cup, compiling 256 at an average of 32.

It was a tougher decision for the Air New Zealand Young Cricketer of the Year, but with her superb performances for the Northern Districts women's team, Jenny Stafford took away the outstanding performances with the ball this season, in which she took 19 wickets including a hat-trick in the State Insurance Cup.
