Gulf Cup dates announced
Preparations for the inaugural Gulf Cup are proceeding with the announcement of the draw and a sponsor.
The six teams have been split into two groups with one including Bahrain, Oman and Qatar, while the other will bring together Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the host, United Arab Emirates.
The winner of each group will meet the runner-up of the other in the two semi-finals.
The two semi-final winners meet in the final.
The tournament has attracted a sponsor and will be known as the Farmers Inter-Gulf Cup.
Kuwait is likely to select its team in the first week of January while Bahrain is experiencing difficulty satisfying the ICC eligibility rules and still field a competitive team.
