Hampshire dilema over Shoaib

Further to reports in the Local press today, Hampshire Cricket want to stress that Shoaib Akhtar, the one-time likely replacement to Shane Warne as the counties overseas player, is still undecided.

Chairman Rod Bramsgrove and Director of Cricket Tim Tremllett said jointly "that while they would like the Pakistani paceman to join, it was becoming increasingly unlikely that he would given the possibilities of his countries Test series against India and Sri Lanka during the summer."

A decision is likely to be made next week, but no definate decision has been made to date, contrary to reports.
