Australian one-day international spinner Nathan Hauritz will captain the Queensland Academy of Sport XII against Bangladesh in a limited overs match in Innisfail on Thursday.
Hauritz will lead a strong Academy team containing six players with first-class experience.
The team includes Queensland Bulls allrounder James Hopes, pace bowlers Damien MacKenzie and Mitchell Johnson and batsmen Daniel Payne and Jerry Cassell.
Bangladesh will use the match to prepare for their opening VB Series ODI against Australia at Bundaberg Rum Stadium in Cairns on Saturday.
They have added two players to their squad - pace bowler Hashibul Hossain and allrounder Tushar Imran - for the three one-day matches in the series.
Johnson will make his first appearance in a Queensland team since a stress fracture in his back ruled him out during the 2001-02 season.
The left-arm pace bowler played club cricket in 2002-03 as a batsman for Norths and made his return to bowling late in the season.
The QAS team also contains Toowoomba product Peter Reimers, a member of the QAS regional program and an Australian Country representative last season.
Leading Australian umpires Steve Davis and Simon Taufel will officiate in the match which will start at 9.30am.
The QAS side is: Daniel Payne, Jerry Cassell, Duncan Betts, Aaron Maynard, Nathan Hauritz (c), Craig Philipson, Chris Hartley, Peter Reimers, James Hopes, Mitchell Johnson, Damien MacKenzie, Matthew Petrie.
