The Hong Kong Cricket Association (HKCA) is seeking applications for a specialist batting coach to join its coaching staff under a short term contract of between 6 and 12 months.
HKCA is a member of the Asian Cricket Council and is an Associate member of the International Cricket Council. Currently ranked 20th in global rankings the HKCA carries the responsibility of developing cricket throughout the Hong Kong Special Administrative region from grassroots cricket to the elite teams.
Hong Kong Men's squad will participate in the 2014 ICC World Cup Qualifiers and a major part of the preparation is to employ a highly qualified batting coach to develop and assist the National Coach in preparation of the squad for this major tournament.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Plan and develop a batting plan/program for HKCA elite players
- Assist the National Coach and the Women's Coach in general coaching duties
- Be responsible for implementing individual skill development strategies
- Provide individual coaching sessions
- Assist in updating the Talent ID chart
The successful applicant will have played at domestic level or higher, have a minimum Level 2 coaching accreditation with a batting focus and have a proven coaching background. Also required are excellent communication skills and competency in computing with Microsoft applications.
