Matthew Hoggard is set to undergo an MRI scan on a side strain after pulling out of Yorkshire's County Championship match against Nottinghamshire at the last minute. He pulled up during a warm-up shortly before the start of the game.
He went straight to hospital where it was confirmed that there was no muscle tear, and he will return today for further investigations to see if he has a small abdominal strain on his right side.
"The ultrasound revealed that there is no muscular tear," Scott McAllister, Yorkshire's physiotherapist, said. "We didn't play him because we didn't want to go a bowler down. The decision was made to have a scan because we wanted to be absolutely sure that the injury was not too serious."
