New Zealand's selectors have called up the Otago wicketkeeper, Gareth Hopkins, for the one-day triangular series against England and West Indies, which starts on June 24.

Hopkins, a renowned gloveman whose batting has improved markedly over the last three years, will be standing in for Brendon McCullum, whose wife is expecting their first child. Shane Bond, another first-time dad in the waiting, will return home after the fifth match, although no replacement has been announced.

Two other one-day specialists will be joining the New Zealand squad for the triangular series - the veteran allrounder Chris Harris and the batsman Hamish Marshall. Chris Martin and Mark Richardson are due to return home after the third Test at Trent Bridge.
