A new website for cricket enthusiasts went `on line' last week (Tuesday, 27th January) as part of Hampshire County Cricket Youth Trust's 'Howzat Appeal'.
The website, www.howzatappeal.org, contains full details of this charitable appeal of which Sir Tim Rice has agreed to be president. The Appeal is due to be officially launched at a dinner later this month.
Designed by Vic Isaacs, Hampshire Cricket's official statistician, the new site features photographs of youth cricket, information on the Appeal's specially designed merchandise, details of the year's events and activities plus links for donations and ticket applications.
"This is the first time that a Hampshire Cricket Benefit Year has been allocated to a charity and we are delighted that it is for the benefit of enabling and encouraging schoolchildren throughout Hampshire to play cricket," said appeal chairman Peter Towler. "It is therefore particularly appropriate that the Appeal's first step is to establish this excellent website which will be continually developed and enhanced throughout the year. We hope that people of all ages will visit the site on a regular basis."
