ICC Announces Emirates Elite Panel appointments up to December 2005

The International Cricket Council today announced the Emirates Elite Panel and Emirates International Panel appointments for all Test match and ODI matches to be played up to December 2005 with the exception of the Johnnie Walker Super Series. These appointments have been made for the South Africa v New Zealand, Australia v West Indies, Pakistan v England, India v South Africa and New Zealand v Australia series.

Chris Broad will be the Match Referee for the South Africa v New Zealand ODI series (5 matches) while Steve Bucknor from the Emirates Elite Panel will stand alongside umpires appointed by United Cricket Board of South Africa.

For the Australia v West Indies Test series, Mike Proctor will be the Match Referee. Emirates International Panel umpire Ian Howell is one of the umpires in the first game with Rudi Koertzen standing at the opposite end. Aleem Dar will officiate in the next two games with Billy Bowden replacing Koertzen in the third match.

Roshan Mahanama is the Match Referee for the Pakistan v England Test series scheduled in Pakistan in November while Jeff Crowe will oversee the ODI Series. Billy Bowden and Simon Taufel will stand in the first Test match, Darrell Hair will accompany Taufel in the second Test while Rudi Koertzen will replace Taufel in the third.

Following a specific request from the Pakistan Cricket Board, both on-field umpires will be from neutral countries in the ODI series. The Emirates International Panel Umpires, Brian Jerling from South Africa and Tony Hill from New Zealand will officiate in the ODIs. Darrell Hair will officiate in the first two games and Rudi Koertzen will stand in with Hill in the next three matches.

Jeff Crowe is the Match Referee for the India v South Africa ODI Series. Daryl Harper will be accompanied by locally-appointed umpires from the Emirates International Panel for the five matches.

For the New Zealand v Australia ODIs, Ranjan Madugalle will be the Match Referee while Aleem Dar has been appointed as the Emirates Elite Panel Umpire.
