The ICC today launched the online Media Information System (MIS) for accredited media at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007

The ICC today launched the online Media Information System (MIS) for accredited media at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007.

This service will provide accredited media with up-to-date information on team schedules, statistics and player biographies as well as background information on the event and post-match quotes and audio.

The MIS can be accessed at www.icc-cricket.com/mis

All accredited media will be issued with passwords over the coming 24 hours and there will be dedicated terminals at all of the ICC Cricket World Cup venues. If you do not receive a password today, please contact Robin Abrahams at: robin.abrahams@wisdengroup.com.

If you are not accredited for the event but would like to access the MIS, particularly for audio and quotes from post-match media conferences, please contact James Fitzgerald of the ICC at: james.fitzgerald@icc-cricket.com.

The opening ceremony of the ninth ICC Cricket World Cup will take place at Trelawny in the north of Jamaica on Sunday 11 March.  Two days later the opening match of the tournament will be held at Sabina Park, Kingston when hosts the West Indies go head-to-head with Pakistan.

The tournament will see 51 matches played between 16 teams with the final to be staged at Kensington Oval, Barbados on 28 April.  Australia is the defending champion after beating India in the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup final in Johannesburg in 2003.

Another online resource is www.cricketworldcup.com – the official website for the tournament, with scores, statistics, player profiles, interviews and features.
