India to host World Cup for the blind

India is going to host a cricket World Cup for the blind. Sri Lanka, Australia and New Zealand agreed to participate and confirmation is awaited from Pakistan according to a London based report published in newspapers here.
Mr. George Abrahim of the Indian Council for Cricket for the Blind (ICCB) is in London to invite England to the tournament the reports said.
Each cricket team for the blind World Cup, tentatively scheduled some time between October 25 and November 15 will comprise six totally blind and five partially sighted players. Eligibility conditions for the blind World Cup require players to have an eyesight no better than 6/60 in the better eye after correction - which means he can see only 6 meters (or less) what a person with normal vision can see at 60 meters.
At a September conference in New Delhi representatives of the countries will discuss a standard rules for blind cricket World Cup.
The West Bengal government announced a reward of Rs. 1 lakh for Saurav Ganguly for his century on Test debut at Lord`s London. He will be felicitated at a function on his return from England tour. Ganguly played the innings of his life to become the first Indian to score a century at Lord`s on debut.
