Indian Team to SL (4-Nation One-daytournament)

Indian Team to SL has been announced yesterday. Kapil Dev and Manoj Prabhakar come in to the team that went to Sharjah in place of Salil Ankola and Bhupinder Singh (Sr). Prashant Vaidya has been included as the 15th member. India will play a Quadrangular OD tourney in SL starting from Sept 4 the Sept 19. This also involves Australia, SL and Pakistan

Sairaj Bahutule's name came during discussion, but was not chosen. Similarly Vishvanath "personally feels that Amol Mazumdar should play one more season before considered for the team and Shastri's should improve his bowling".

He adds "that this is not a recall for Kapil Dev, since he was never dropped and was rested as per his wish". Also Manoj Prabhakar has produced a medical fitness certificate certifying his fitness

Ajith Wadekar feels India can win the tournament, since the crowd support to Pak might not be as strong in SL as it was in Sharjah (?!!).

The team: M.Azharuddin, Tendulkar, Sidhu, M.Prabhakar, A.Jadeja, Kambli, Bedade, Mongia, Kapil Dev, Srinath, Vekatesh Prasad, P.Vaidya, Kumble, Chauhan, Raju.
