India 8/11 to go 2-0 up at Mohali

bet365 make India 8/11 favourites to beat Sri Lanka in the second ODI.

Not surprisingly, after their superb performance on Tuesday in Nagpur, India are favourites with bet365 to win Friday's second one-day international against Sri Lanka in a day/night match at Mohali. Sachin Tendulkar's 93, in his first international match in six months, set the tone as India won by 152 runs, and bet365 make them 8/11 (1.72) to make it 2-0 in the seven-match series. Sri Lanka, who had won 15 of their previous 20 one-day internationals, are even money (2.00) to level the series.

Tuesday's result showed that form does not always mean that much, since India had won just nine of their previous 20 matches. However, the return of Tendulkar, who looked as if he had never been away, lifted them and took the pressure off new captain Rahul Dravid, who responded with a superb unbeaten 85 to put the game beyond Sri Lanka's reach.

bet365 make Tendulkar a 3/1 (4.00) favourite to be India's top scorer at Mohali, while Virender Sehwag is 7/2 (4.50) and Dravid, who won the Man of the Match award in Nagpur, is a 4/1 (5.00) bet. For Sri Lanka, Kumar Sangakkara, who top-scored in Tuesday´s game, is 100/30 (4.33) favourite to repeat the feat on Friday. Captain Marvan Atapattu and fellow opener Sanath Jayasuriya are both 4/1 (5.00) chances, while Mahela Jayawardene and Upul Tharanga, who didn´t play on Tuesday, are both 5/1 (6.00).

Dravid is 10/1 (11.00) to be named Man of the Match again, but Tendulkar, who can consider himself unlucky not to have won it on Tuesday, is the 13/2 (7.50) favourite, with Sehwag close behind on 8/1 (9.00) and Sangakkara the first Sri Lankan in the market at 11/1 (12.00). Of the five one-day internationals to have been played in Mohali, India have won four and lost just one, to Pakistan in 1998/1999. Three of the five matches have been won by the side batting first, and only once, when India beat Zimbabwe, has any side scored more than 300 in an innings.
