The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dismissed rumours in the local media that the Indian team would return home after the first ODI in Peshawar on February 6 to avoid staying in Pakistan during the last four days leading up to Ashura during the month of Muharram.

A PCB source told United News of India that the Indian players would travel straight to Islamabad and remain there for the Rawalpindi ODI on February 11. He said: "The Indian officials have not made any such request and it is not possible for them to return home for four days and then come back to play the remaining ODIs." He also said the BCCI had not clarified as yet if their team would be accompanied by their own security officers.
