1 Mishra is dropped: In the second over of the day, Amit Mishra cut at a bouncing delivery from Paul Harris, and Jacques Kallis failed to hold on to a tough catch to his right at first slip. Mishra went on to score 23 more runs, frustrating the fast bowlers.

2 Kallis misses Dhoni: In the last over before lunch, MS Dhoni pushed at a Harris delivery, which turn took an edge and flew fast to the left of first slip, and Kallis failed to take what would have been a special catch. Dhoni added 109 after that reprieve.

3 Duminy drops Laxman: Soon after lunch, JP Duminy missed a tough chance from VVS Laxman at point, and Laxman went on to score 95 more runs before India declared their innings.
