Turning Points

India v Sri Lanka, 3rd Test, Mumbai, 3rd day

The moment to watch out for on the third day, was Virender Sewhag's triple-century. Unfortunately, after just three overs in the day, he succumbed seven short of the 300-mark. A loopy delivery from Muttiah Muralitharan bowling round the stumps had Sehwag scooping it straight back to the bowler. Murali didn't take it cleanly as the ball popped out, but he held his nerves to collect it on the rebound.

It was the 98th over with Rangana Herath bowling to Tendulkar. The spinner was confident he had his man but umpire Nigel Llong turned it down. It landed on a length on the middle and moved down to hit him in front of leg stump. Hawk eye suggests it would have hit the leg stump - pity the 71-run stand for the fourth wicket could have had an earlier end.

MS Dhoni may have got to his hundred but he was given a lucky reprieve when he was on six. Herath's fourth delivery in the 128th over, was flighted outside off stump. Dhoni stretched forward to defend and edged it between the gap between Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan - at slip and second slip respectively.
