Prakash was picked after guiding the State's Under-16 team to the final of the Vijay Merchant Trophy. Gokulakrishnan, the former Tamil Nadu medium-pacer, assisted Raman last season. RI Palani will continue as the team's cricket manager.

Raman took up the offer to coach Bengal from this season, after spending four years with his native Tamil Nadu. Raman helped the side young side rebuild after several defections to the ICL.
