The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has retained Naimur Rehman as the captain of the 14-member Bangladesh team for its historic first Test against India scheduled to be played at the Bangabandhu Stadium in Dhaka from November 10 to 14.

Off spinner Fahim Muntasir and Razin Saleh Alam have been included in the squad while Mehrab Hossain and Shariar Hossain find their way back into the team after a injury lay off. Noted omissions from the team that played the ICC KnockOut tourney in Nairobi are Habibul Bashar, Enamul Hoque, Eshanul Haque and Mushfiqur Rehman.

Lucknow police arrest 13 alleged bookmakers

Agence France Presse (AFP) reported on Tuesday that the Uttar Pradesh Police, during a seven hour operation over last weekend, arrested 13 alleged bookmakers in Lucknow.

Quoting the Senior Superintendent of Police, Arun Kumar, the agency said that the arrests were made by intercepting the calls made by the suspects from their mobile phones. Arun Kumar said that following the arrests, the police departments in Delhi and Mumbai have been alerted since these are the places from where all the operations take place.

The agency also said that the Mumbai police have been asked to trace a top operator named Dhamani, while their counterparts in Delhi have been informed about an alleged bookie called Pawan. The agency reported that the bookies operating from Lucknow placed bets to the tune of 2.5 million rupees (55,000 dollars) on a single match.

Charudatta Kulkarni to lead Maharashtra U-19 team

The Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) has named Charudatta Kulkarni to lead the State Under-19 team for the West Zone Cooch Behar Trophy League matches. Maharashtra are slated to take on Gujarat in their first match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Pune from November 2 to 4.

Saurashtra names team for Cooch Behar Trophy

The Saurashtra Cricket Association has named a 15-member Under-19 squad for the West Zone Cooch Behar trophy tournament slated to commence from November 2. Saurashtra will take on Baroda in the first match at Baroda.
