The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has selected 35 probables who are undergoing a conditioning camp for the 2000-2001 season. The RCA has also selected 47 probables for the Under-16 and Under-19 State teams. The two camps started last week and is at present being held at the Manasarovar Stadium in Jaipur. The State team for the Ranji Trophy is to be selected after the conclusion of the camp on September 25.

GCA and MCA name teams for Cooch-Behar Trophy

The Goa Cricket Association has selected Gautham Narvekar as the captain of the State Under-19 team for the Cooch-Behar Trophy tournament scheduled to begin later this month. The three member state selection committee comprising Ramanand Natekar, Ulhas Naik and Desh Kinlekar have named Suraj Kamat as Narvekar's deputy. Sandeep Naik would be the coach of the team while Ulhas Naik is the manager.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Cricket Association while announcing the list of probables has named Kashinath Khadkikar as the captain of the State Under-19 team for the forthcoming Rungta Trophy and Cooch-Behar Trophy tournaments.

Doru elected Mathur Das Mathur awardee for 1999-2000 season

The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) at a function organised at Jaipur recently gave away the annual Mathur Das Mathur Awards for the best performers in the senior and junior catagories during the 1999-2000 season.

Rajasthan Ranji Trophy player Nikhil Doru and Junior cricketer Afroz Khan won the award for the senior and junior category while Rohit Jhalani and Shamsher Singh were given consolation awards in the respective categories.

Since both Nikhil Doru and Rohit Jhalani were not present at the function due to their commitments with the National Cricket Academy, the awards were received on their behalf by their family members.
