The pace bowlers have kept it short this IPL season, and to good effect. The average for short and short-of-good-length deliveries by pace bowlers in IPL 2022 is the lowest for any season since 2013. Coincidentally, the team whose pace attack has the best average going short has found their batters come up short against the same. And there's one venue this season where the tactic has definitely not paid off.
