UAE were bowled out for 132, with Regan West doing the main damage with 4 for 21 to follow his four-wicket haul against Afghanistan earlier in the week. Gary Wilson continued his good form with the bat, hitting an unbeaten 83 off 102 deliveries as Ireland eased home with almost 15 overs to spare.

There was less to celebrate for Scotland as they lost to Kenya by seven runs. It was a match of many twists and turns, with Kenya, having elected to bat first, recovering well from a poor start in which Calum MacLeod removed both openers with just 16 on the board.

Maurice Ouma (35), Steve Tikolo (46) and Collins Obuya helped Kenya recover from a poor start to post 243 for 9, aided by some poor discipline from the Scottish bowlers as they conceded 21 wides. Kenya too showed some familiar lapses as Scotland moved into a strong position in their chase, but at the death it was the Scots batting that failed them.

Uganda beat Denmark by two wickets in Johannesburg with 13 balls to spare. A good all-round batting display from Netherlands gave them a 38-run win over Canada, while Bermuda, who many favour to loser their one-day status, went down by six wickets to Namibia. Afghanistan bounced back from defeat by Ireland to defeat Oman by four wickets.
