Sachin Tendulkar has said that he is not worried about security on India's tour of Pakistan, but that it will be a taxing tour nevertheless, and that boredom will be a worry in the evening, with the mobility of the team restricted.
Speaking to the Mumbai newspaper, Mid Day, Tendulkar said: "It is going to be tough, not easy to relax your mind." But he wasn't worried about security. "I think the government and the cricket board have taken enough precautions.
"My family wanted to know what was happening," he continued. "What kind of security they were providing. Once everything was cleared, it was okay." And what did his wife, Anjali, feel about it? "She is pretty much okay with it," said Tendulkar. "She knows that the people concerned have taken care. I am sure no one is going to harm any sportsperson."
More than terrorists, Tendulkar was worried about boredom. "When we come back in the evening [after the day's play], we will not be able to do things like going to restaurants, taking a walk or just feeling free to do whatever we want. We will be confined to out hotel and that is going to be difficult. It will be a different experience because we have not done that before."
He had plans on how to deal with it, though. "You can watch movies, carry good music, get together and hope not to put on weight."
