Edwards was in fine form, taking 4 for 15, three catches and then hitting an unbeaten 67 as she led her side to an historic win. It was a fitting end for Edwards who, along with her Kent colleagues Marsha Davies and Penny Arnold, finally achieved Championship success after twelve years. They were brilliantly supported by a crop of talented young cricketers that have come through the Kent Cricket Board's girls development programme.

To recognise their achievement Paul Millman, the Kent chief executive, has invited the women's team to parade the Cup at the St Lawrence Ground on August 4 during the tea interval on the third day of Kent's Championship clash against Hampshire.
