Rookie West Indies fast bowler Kerry Jeremy underwent surgery on his broken jaw at St John of God Hospital in Murdoch late this morning, Friday 10 November 2000.
Jeremy (20) had two small plates inserted in the break at the front of his jaw while the break near his hairline was left to heal naturally.
"According to the surgeon, the procedure was a success," said West Indies team manager, Mr Ricky Skerritt.
"We have been told he may be able to have a light jog as soon as Tuesday and may only be missing from cricket for up to a fortnight."
Mr Skerritt will visit Jeremy, who is on his first tour of Australia, later this afternoon.
There are no plans for Jeremy to return home to the West Indies.
