Set just 83 to win after Lions had pressed the self destruct button more than once whilst batting first, losing no less than six wickets to run outs, Kiryat Gat needed less than 15 overs to reach their target, losing five wickets in the process.
In Division 1 league action over the weekend, Ra'anana closed the gap at the top of the table further with a 65-run win over Ashdod A in Ashdod on Friday. Dovi Myers (106) and Gabi Schachat (87) teamed up for an outstanding 172-run partnership for the third wicket, allowing the visitors to declare on 244 for five after 35 overs. Ashdod made a very positive start to their innings in reply, with both guest players, Yaniv Razpurker (54) and Matan Razpurker (58) scoring attacking half centuries, but once both had been removed the rest of the order showed little resistance, dismissed for 179 with leg spinner Josh Evans taking five for 23.
In the Sri Lankan derby played Saturday at Hadar Yosef, Tel Aviv, led by 56 by Menaka, scored 188 in their innings. Jerusalem could reply with just 99, Menaka again excelling taking five for 37.
