Let Bindra help BCCI in cleaning up the game: Dalmiya

The President of the International Cricket Council Jagmohan Dalmiya has refused to comment on the allegations made against him, by the former President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India IS Bindra. Talking in Calcutta on Thursday, Dalmiya said, ``It's below my dignity to comment against such allegations. I have nothing really to say.''

However, after slight persuasion, Dalmiya said, ``he has stated that some administrator of the Pakistan Cricket Board had informed him (Bindra) about a `fixed match.' If he has any concrete proof about this allegation he should divulge them to the Delhi Police and help the BCCI in cleaning up the game.''

Dalmiya also added that 10 members of the BCCI had assured him that they would co-operate with the Delhi Police on the issue of match fixing. They will also submit a report to the ICC, which we will go through at the meting at Lord's on May 2 and 3.

However, later in the day, in an online chat session on Doordarshan, Dalmiya stated that he had doubts even regarding the ongoing investigation. ``There are four people who are saying that they have knowledge about bookies and betting. However, not a single investigating agency is questioning them or asking them to disclose facts.''
