Lions Lod once again easily brushed aside Ra'anana in a Divison 1 game played on Friday at Hadar Yosef. Ra'anana, having won the toss and decided to bat, were soon in trouble at 10 for 2 with a wicket each for David and Gershon Massil. A 3rd wicket stand of 55 between Ra'anana veterans David Silver (36) and Adrian Vard (21), gave some stability to the Ra'anana innings, but the introduction of spinner Anim Solomon (4 for 37) broke the partnership and triggered a procession of wickets that left Ra'anana all out for a meager 128.
Chasing a low score can be tricky at times, and Lod managed to get themselves into a slight mess, losing two early wickets against tight but hardly threatening bowling. Although Lod were always the likely winners, Ra'anana managed to keep things interesting by taking a couple of wickets, with Aharon Goldstuck bowling an impressive 8-over spell (2 for 25), to reduce Lod to 94 for 5. However the experienced Isaac Massil (16*) and Shay Bangerra (9*) calmly went about knocking off the required runs, guiding their team to a 5-wicket win with seven overs in hand.
Isaac Talkar scored 39* as Ramle (160/7) held on to beat Be'er Sheva A by 3 wickets, and Lod (90/4) beat Kiryat Gat by 6 wickets.
