Lord Sheppard new President of Sussex

Sussex County Cricket Club is delighted to announce the Right Reverend Lord David Sheppard as their new President for the 2001 season. He succeeds the Duke of Richmond and Gordon FCA, who stands down after ten years in the role and has now become Patron of the Club.

Lord Sheppard, 72, is a Sussex great having captained both the County and England during his 22 Test Match career. He was Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1953.
