Manawatu players Andrea Stockwell and Jenni Scott combined in a 141-run partnership to held their side to a first-up win at the Central Zone under-17 girls' cricket tournament being played at Wanganui.
Manawatu scored 232-4 in its innings when batting first against Hutt Valley. Stockwell scored 66 and Scott 62. It was a total too tough for Hutt Valley who were all out for 189.
