The first of the 50 over matches was a nail biting thriller that saw the match decided by the last ball of the game.
MCC scored 218 /9 in their allotted 50 overs. Botswana scored 217 /7 and thus lost the match. Man of the Match, Faisal Rana Rashid (Botswana) scored 91 runs , but this was not enough to secure the victory.
In the final 50 over match Botswana had certainly grown in stature and defeated the MCC team. Batting first Botswana scored 225 for 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Faisal Rana Rashid continued where he had left off and scored 61 and was ably assisted by James Moses with 60 runs. The MCC response was led by Ben Humpage who top scored with 91 runs but his departure saw the MCC slump to 202 all out thanks to the bowling of man of the match Moosa Gaolekwe with 4 wickets for 35 runs in 10.
The MCC now travel to Zambia for the second part of the Africa Tour.
