Media accreditation open for ICC Awards
Applications are open today for media intending to cover international cricket's night of nights next month - the ICC Awards presented by Hyundai in association with FICA.
The awards will be presented at a gala black-tie ceremony in the Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney on the evening of Tuesday 11 October.
How to apply for accreditation
All media planning to attend in a working capacity must apply for accreditation, and can do so by sending an email to Sheila Razdan at the ICC (sheila.razdan@icc-cricket.com) by 29 September stating:
- Name
- Media organisation;
- Telephone number; and
- Preferred email address for further correspondence.
Please note that media who register and receive accreditation, are deemed to have read and accepted the terms and conditions for ICC Awards accreditation and entry to the venue.

Media opportunities on the night
There are two main media opportunities surrounding coverage of the awards on 11 October:
1. Arrival opportunities of players and guests on red carpet as they enter the function;
2. Rolling press conferences with each award winner in a dedicated media centre at the venue.
Accreditation is required for both opportunities.
Media centre for working journalists
A full media centre will operate on the night for working media, and is adjacent to the main function hall.
Please note, access to the main function room for the ceremony is by ticket only, and guests will require separate tickets to enter this area.
Award winners will conduct a formal press conference in the media centre immediately following receipt of their award on stage.
Media in the media centre DO NOT have to wear black-tie attire as the access to the main function room is strictly limited.
The working media centre will include:
- Telephone lines;
- Working desks;
- Television screens with direct feeds from the main function hall;
- Press conference facilities including stage and audio;
- Theatre style seating;
- Camera rise with split boxes;
- Central computer with printer;
- Buffet style catering;
- ICC staff to provide assistance.
Photographers
A strictly limited number of photographers from major international press agencies will have access to the main function hall to obtain pictures inside the room and of the stage area.
These photographers must still apply for accreditation and ICC will allocate numbers from each organisation. Images from inside the room will be made available to all media through these sources.
Photographers inside the main function hall MUST wear formal, black-tie attire.
Footage
The event will be telecast by SET Max, the host broadcaster. Footage of the event will also be made available to media outlets through a central news agency. Full details will be issued in due course.

Eight awards will be presented on the night in two categories: individual and team awards.
The individual awards are:
- Cricketer of the Year;
- Test Player of the Year;

- Emerging Player of the Year;
- Umpire of the Year

- World XI Test Team of the Year;
